Helping communities and people in crisis has always been part of Hibco’s DNA, and while we’re taking the call seiously to protect our employees and families, we also decided we cannot sit and wait for things to pass.
People, like healthcare professionals and first responders, need help, and when calls started to come in for foam parts that are part of the protective shields for those on the frontlines helping COVID-19 patients, we didn’t have to think twice about it. We knew we HAD to do whatever we could to fulfill requests. And we will continue to do so until the need falls to zero.
Hibco Foam Parts Developed For Protective Face Shields
We’re working with several manufactuers to quickly develop the parts needed for protective face shields. These sheilds are designed for procedures and environments where risk of exposure to blood and/or bodily fluids is possible to healthcare professionals. We’ve developed the foam band and headband to help for comfort and fit, since they are worn constantly.
We Also Developed Our Own Protective Foam Face Masks
While these foam face masks aren’t N-95 compliant, for those looking to add an extra layer of protection, this Hibco original will help. In fact, these masks are in such high demand (we recently sent two truckloads to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore), we’ve added a third production shift, and have been hiring workers whom have been laid off from area employers.
We’re also working with bio-tech firms who are looking for open-cell foam products that can be used in cleaning and disinfecting surfaces far better than paper towels.
We’re grateful that we have been blessed with the opportunity to help when so many in our country, and around the world, need help. Please do whatever you can in your community to lend assistance to those in need. Please heed the call of officials to stay home, and if you can’t, please make every effort to protect yourself and your family.
